medium
Paper is a medium on which paint is applied, used for printing, cutting and shaping. Isamu Hazama stripped the bark of kozo (paper mulberry) collected from the mountains behind his house, processed it to the condition just before making paper, colored it, and then formed and dried it while preserving its mass instead of making sheets. Whether this can really be called paper is not clear, but it seems to meet the JIS definition of paper as “paper made by agglutinating plant or other fibers.
